Salt loosing it's saltiness?

So today I got to see my lovely friendlikins from uni. It was great to just hang out and chat, and even do some knitting (I always have it in my bag – just in case there’s time to do a row : P). We made a visit to good ol JBHIFI and watched the many many large screens with either ice, creepy cartoons with really odd shaped heads (quite amusing noses and chins), and some random movie with Michael Jackson running, always running?! Then a trip to Borders and Kiki K was in order and always a treat : D. It was great to see them, but not so great to see the movie... It was pretty predictable and Angelina Jolie looks pretty aweful as a guy! As is expected in a spy movie, there was a lot of violence and shooting and murder, you know all the things that help you sleep well at night : S. I wonder every time I watch a movie like this one, why I put myself through all the anguish, having to look away from such aweful visuals and sound effects and pretty horrible lives that are portrayed. The worst one was Inglorious Bastards! That one shocked me soo much that I actually cried! I knew that I wasn’t going to like it... don’t know why I agreed to watching it! From now on I’m going to be really careful with what I watch, whether it’s violence, sexual, or materialistic imagery and ideals. I know that images can really affect me and influence me, and that they are generally pretty unpleasant, unhelpful, and destructive things to be filling my mind with. Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”.  Also how can we be the salt and light of the world if we are filling our minds with rubbish.
