how are you this fine + dandy day? hope all is swell : ) it's crazy to think that it's already nearly the end of january! this weekend is the start of february! ai ai ai! i hope you've been making the most of your summery holidays + feeling fresh + rested + inspired + motivated for a new year + what it has to offer! i know i am : )


here are my january summer adventures:

* new years eve - newcastle, train trip, dance party, beach adventures!

* bike rides!

* snail mail - receiving packages + writing letters to friends!

* friends over for dinner + games + movies + fun times!

* parties - birthday + going away party times!

* gig - tom's dad's gig!

* watched - torchwood + grimm + new girl + the hobbit 1 + 2 + the princess bride!

* fun times with family!

* getting things ready for tommy to go overseas with thief!

* australia day - listened to the hottest 100 + church + bbq {amazing choc, cinnamon + banana cupcakes!}

* trying out my new sewing machine that i got for my birthday!

* craft - crocheting a mexican inspired granny square blanket + learnt a variation to the granny sqaure!

* hair cut - it's all gone!

* listening to audiobooks - terry pratchett + the museum of curiosity + i like you hospitality under the influence by amy sedaris!

* reading - the jane austen book club!

*writing in kikki k sentence a day + today i am thankful journals!

*mended some clothes - it's like i have a new wardrobe!

hello lovely friendlikins!

wow it's already september, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, flowers are blooming + there are babies everywhere! have you noticed that spring is in the air? spring + autumn are my favourite seasons. not too hot, not too cold + lots is happening in nature! whether it be leaves turning into fiery shades of awesome or flowers popping up all over the neighbourhood. i'm looking forward to picnics in the park, making + wearing lovely floral dresses + enjoying the sunshine + all that the LORD blesses us with. i'm looking forward to achieving more on my '52 things before 25' list + also noticing that there are only a few more months until december 9th... there's plenty more on my list to get done, so i've got to get my butt into action! also kinda freakin' out about turning 25... 25! thats half way to 50. a quarter century! whilst i come to terms with the whole age thing, i'll be planning my big *cough* 25th *cough* BIRTHDAY PARTY! i didn't have a 21st, so i thought a big 25th would be dandy fine : ).  since there should be plenty of sunshiney goodness i'm thinking it would be lovely to have a TEA PARTY, with an abundance of baked goodies, bunting, sun dresses + bow ties! a picnicky crafternoon full of fun times sounds dandy fine to me : ). hopefully i can figure out how to make some granny square cookies like the ones above - how cute are they?!

well, i've got plenty of things to do!

how are you? long time no see! it's SPRING?! c-razy... what's been happening in your neck of the woods? last time we hung out i was sharing about tommy + my 1 year wedding anniversary way back at the end of june. what have i been up to? why have i been virtually living under a rock? let's have a looksies!

this + plenty more has happened in the last couple of months. we've been sick on + off. the car has been written off. we're both looking for work. and tommy got hit by a car riding his bike to work yesterday! he's ok - THANK THE LORD!

{celebrating one year}

happy snaps from brunch

hello friendlikins!

how are you this rainy rainy day? staying dry + toasty warm i hope! how've you been? long time no see! now that the weekend of parties have calmed down {more on that later}, i thought that i would finally share with you that it was tommy + my one year wedding anniversary on sunday! wooo! for those who live in sydney you will know that it was very much storming on sunday + so tommy's secret mission celebrations that he had planned needed to change. i've never had someone plan a day for me or plan a surprise! we did start part of the celebrations though; a photo scavenger hunt - with words of tommy's choosing that i needed to take a picture of, which also related to our relationship. i think i took a few but i'll share with you when i've completed the hunt. even though we didn't get to do all the celebrating tommy had planned - he's told me that it will happen! yay! i've been told that there is a picnic involved + some other things but no deets. so exciting! hehe

on sunday we did however get to spend the afternoon at my favourite book store kinokuniya! i do believe that it's the largest bookstore in the southern hemisphere. there are SO many books! tommy + i always go straight to the arty, crafty, design section where we peruse the books for inspiration + get excited about learning new skills.

hello friendlikins!

how are we all? long time no see. hope you're fine n dandy! here's a snippet into my life over the last couple of weeks according to instagram. lots has been happening!

Easter long weekend tommy + i spent lots of time with family + friends + eating lots of homemade pizza oven pizza! friday, monday + tuesday was pizza time. nomnomnom!

tommy + i went for a 3 1/2 hour walk on saturday afternoon. we didn't think it would take that long! but it was lovely to see some pretty flowers + black swans. half way through we stopped for some very much enjoyed ice-cream! we also spent some time reflecting on the reason for the sea on - Jesus' death + resurrection + sharing what we most LOVE about Jesus.

last weekend tommy + i spent the weekend in the blue mountains. all the family from sydney + melbourne made the trip up the mountain. some having driven 12 hours! the reason for the huge shindig was... well quite a few things really! there was tom's uncle john marrying his lovely now wife dante {congratulations!} asher celebrated her 21st + hannah her 30th + ouma {tommy's grandma} celebrated her 70th birthday, also finishing her masters in journalism + celebrating 40 years in australia {originally from south africa} with her children! just a few things. we had a lovely time in a huge house; playing board games + card games, nearly everyone playing a guitar jamming into the wee hours! i spent some time working on some knitting + the quilt. we ate lots of wedding feasty-food + fish'n'chips for dinner! really missing all the peeps. good times were had : )

after a crazy weekend of family, tommy + i went for a bike ride. our first as a married couple. actually first ever together! this is due to the fact that i haven't ridden a bike for 10 yrs... the last time being when  i rode without working brakes, went down a huge hill + thought i was going to end up in the dirty dirty river. luckily i did survive + didn't go for an unwanted swim but i'd never ridden again since that day. now that i'm an adult i need to ride on the road. so i did that for the first time. and we rode for 2 hours, so we ended up riding in the dark. my first time for that too! i survived due to my very lovely handsome + helpful hubby who guided me along the way! can't wait to go for another ride! all i need is my own bike.

so this happened the other night. i came out to find a toilet papery mess all over the floor. i'm not sure if it was both bumble + moose or just one. such rascals!

as you can see i've been pretty busy of late! i've also had a few projects in the works - the crafty, bloggy, etsy kind. due to all the crazies i have been getting a tad sick - hence the lack of me being in the blog world. but sometimes we just need to rest + enjoy our real lives. i've also gotten back into using my hectic planner - which i basically haven't touched in a month... whoops! how's YOUR life been lately? any adventures or skills learned or thoughts to share? would LOVE to hear them!
