{audiobooks}

hello lovely friendlikins!

how are we this drizzly day? i'm enjoying the cool break from the toasty hot like an oven heat! if you've been following along with my 52 things before 25 goals, you may know that to read a book a month is on my list before i turn 25 this december. to be honest, i haven't done too much reading, but i have done a WHOLE lot of listening! tommy + i have listened to many audiobooks this year, most nights, instead of watching tv or a dvd we'll listen to the next part of our story. it's been lovely to listen as i craft and tommy draws. have you listened to audiobooks before? if you haven't, i think you should give it a go, it's GREAT!

here's what we've listened to so far:

we started the year with the inheritance cycle series by christopher paolini.

1. eragon

2. eldest

3. brisingr

4. inheritance

they're full of dragons, adventures, dwarfs, troll like creatures, elves, magic, love, loss, courage + fun times! i haven't seen the movie + didn't know anything about the story but really enjoyed this fantasy series so far! i think there is one more book to listen to!

we followed suit with more fantasy adventures, listening to the disc world series by terry pratchett.

1. the colour of magic

2. the light fantastic

3. equal rites

4. mor

5. sourcery

6. wyrd sisters

7. pyramids

8. guards! guards!

9. eric

10. moving pictures

11. reaper man

12. witches abroad

13. small gods

14. lords and ladies

15. men at arms

16. soul music

17. interesting times {currently listening to}

{next on the listening list:}

18. maskerade

19. feet of clay

20. hogfather

21. jingo

i've really been enjoying this series! i was first introduced to this magical land of hilarious adventure, when tommy + i were making engagement party invitations + making 35 metres of bunting! i highly recommend this series + the movies are AMAZING!

in between these amazing series, we started listening to a million miles in a thousand years by donald miller. i've read this one, i enjoy all of donald millers books! he has a great style of writing, like he's your friend sharing about his life's adventures!

the actual reading i have done are parts of:

1. the bible

2. searching for God knows what by donald miller

3. 31 girl by mary simpson

4. a women's devotional book

it's been lovely to listen + do, instead of watch. i would still like to get some actual reading done though! i'm even part of a book club, i haven't started reading the book... persuasion by jane austin. don't tell them, shhhh.

if you'd like to start listening to audiobooks, you should check out audible!

HAPPY LISTENING/READING!

{52 things before 25}

{book inspiration}

hello lovely friendlikins!

HAPPY FRIDAY! hope your'e feeling fine n dandy : ) are you much of a reader? is the library your kid in a lolly shop moment? i used to be a book worm. i would read in bed, on the train, in the bath, whilst i was walking to and from school. but school was a long time ago + unfortunately my book wormy ways are too. that's why i chose to read a book a month this year for my {52 things before 25} goals. i haven't been doing so well with this challenge, so i thought i would collect some book inspiration. a la the above. i did make a list of books i wanted to read, even corresponding with a month. but i think this is part of the reason why it's been tricky to get into it. it's been a bit overwhelming. so now i'm going to just start with a small book which i know i'll enjoy + work myself up from there. how are you going with your reading? i'm excited to be a book worm again, as i find that my vocab definitely expands, i learn so much + you get to experience so many adventures + lives!

i'm inspired to find the right book, a hot chai + a doona to snuggle in + read away the afternoon this winter. how about you? maybe if it's heating up in your part of the world, you might like to have a picnic or read at the beach?

wishing you many reading adventures!

The Great Story Teller

Welcome friendlikins,

How are we all? Hope you’re fine and dandy : D.

So pretty much God is AMAZING and I just wanted to share with y’all how God has been working in my life over the last couple of weeks.

It all started when my doctor said, “if you don’t move out now, you’ll still be stuck at home sick and unable to work and study in 5 yrs time!” I then had the task of asking people who know me well, why I should move out and what would change if I did? This was a helpful process as it made me see the reality of my situation and that things had to change to break the cycle of - being stuck at home due to being sick and unable to work and study due to being sick and all because I’m stuck at home in an unhealthy environment. Talking to a few people about this helped me to see that people understood my situation and were willing to help me out and helped me to make things more concrete in my mind, so that I could have the confidence to make the changes – as difficult as they may be.

So here I am on the other side of the uncertainty and trusting God with my future, remembering that he knows and does what’s best for me and his glory. I find myself now in the home of a generous brother and sister in Christ who just want me to get healthy. God has been soo good – even in just the first week my health has improved significantly, I’m full of joy and energy, I’m working a few days a week as a nanny, I’m more committed to God in prayer and bible reading, and God blessed me and my brothers and sisters at EC with an AWESOME wkend away in the loveliness of Springwood – full of faithful and life changing preaching, conversations that build up, tasty food and good ol bonding time (which may have involved 3 hours of jungle speed…), bush walk, swim, feeding chickens, a crazy game of tennis, trampoline fun times and even a tad bit of limbo.

God is a great story teller – and I want to share with you the story he is writing me into. So I shall be sharing what God is teaching me through his word and other great books and how God is working in my life, writing his unique story.

dug down deep

Just last night, OK… in the wee hours of the morning, I finally finished Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris – which makes it the first book that I’ve finished reading this year and the first of 12 in the book challenge. I shall share with you shortly the things which I have been learning, changing my perspective on, excited by, and just how darn AWESOME God is!

Until next time friendlikins!
love love Liz xo

P.S. Any ladies out there had a random food craving when not pregnant? I had one last night – carrot, cinnamon and sultanas… What do you think it means? Do you think you can interpret food cravings like dreams? Weird… I don’t even like sulatanas! I’m guessing this all came about due to the heart palps that were self-inflicted due to cocoa saturated chocolate cake… it was tasty… but kept me up til atleast 1am. You know, either that or the Holy Spirit has done on a Mary on me without giving me the low down…
