{studio}

{inspiration}

hello ello lovely friendlikins!

how are you this fine day? are you out enjoying the sunny sunshine? i went for a walk this morning in the park + it was dandy : ). another thing that i find dandy is dreaming up my perfect idea of what my craft/business studio will look like + how it will all work together + imagining me making + doing + having a grande ol time.

 here's a glimpse into what i'd really LOVE to have + what i'll work towards:

studio layout - here

mood board to inspire crafty creations - here

turquoise vintage drawers to hold crafty tid bits - here

chevron thread holder - here

vintage storage tins - here
washi tape holder - here

vintage filing cabinet - here

knitting things sitting pretty - here

poster to motivate - here

pretty paper storage - here

it would be dandy to have lots of surface space to work on - with laying out + cutting fabric. also having some interesting + useful storage - i very much like a recycled + vintage + vibrant style! i'm looking forward to having a home for my wool + fabric + packaging + projects in the making + space for the paper work/computer side of things too. at the moment we are in a granny flat + have a bedroom, a kitchen, a shower + the 'end room' aka the 'everything room'. in this room is where you will find me either eating or writing blog posts or working on crafty projects for milk + sugar story or snuggling with the kitties or the hubby on our super comfy couch! ALL the things.

how about you? do you live in a small space? what would you like in a studio? i'd love to hear your ideas : )

{dream home}

{dream home intro.}

lovely wooden home via pinterest

for the last month or so tommy + i have been dreaming up our dream home! it's so exciting! have you done some dream home planning yourself? how have you gone about it? we've been spending many hours on iview + youtube watching grand designs, restoration man, and restoration home. we've been thinking + planning + sharing ideas + making floor plans {i did mine over here}. we've been sketching + thinking what we need + what would work best + tommy's even been researching the joins of the structure!

beautiful verandah + bunting via desire to inspire

with very little money coming in, we knew that with our skills + enthusiasm we could build our own dream home. but HOW can you afford to build your own home if you have no moolahs? i hear you say. well, the plan is to buy some cheap land, say $10,000 - $15,000 in the bush, in a national park, somewhere that we can afford to build our dream home. with tommy's experience with wood work, with making drums + guitars, with helping his dad build their deck + with his ability to learn anything that he's interested in from youtube - whether it's dslr cameras or how to make dread locks, he's learnt it {and it AMAZINGLY stays in there!}

a tad small but it sure is cute via apartment therapy

as you can see we are VERY excited! being gen y, we never though that we would be able to afford a mortgage + we don't want to be stuck  paying for rent + the crazy rising prices of electricity! so building our own place, pretty much off the grid. with water tanks, chickens, solar panels, veggie garden, fruit trees + maybe even an alpaca!

as it's a 5 - 10 year goal, we have plenty of time to try to save some money where we can + to keep planning + dreaming + learning + growing in skills + knowledge that will be valuable to create our very own dream home!

the plan is to regularly blog about it all here, so as to share what's happening + to make sure we don't think about it all the time + also not completely forget about it too! i hope that you too will consider to live greener + be excited about living more simply, no longer letting society make you a consumer - helping the rich become richer!

{home decor}

hello ello friendlikins!

how are you this fine day? fine + dandy i hope! i'm looking forward to lunch with my good friend josie (who was my head wing maiden aka maid of honour). oh!!! and guess what?! tommy + i celebrated our 4 monthiversary yesterday since we've been married. woot! well when i say celebrated, we were like 'hey 4 months - coolies!' that was the extent of our celebrations as we have no money + we've been exhausted with general life + what not. we spent the night sleeping, slept through our alarm + missed community group (aka bible study), ate dinner + watched a couple of episodes of community. if you haven't heard of community or if you have - either way you should check it out! its hilARious!

i know i've said that i would do a post about wedding stuff... i will! we haven't even had photos printed yet! it will happen, maybe i'll even start sharing the planning process this week. we'll see how we go.

anyways, lets get into the reason your here - to check out some home decor! tommy and i have been living here in our granny flat for 4 months together - since the wedding. and i had been living here by myself for about 5 months before that. it's taken a while to settle in properly + find places for things with limited storage. luckily tommy doesn't have too much, as my crafty stuff takes up a lot of space! and will even more so when i start my crafty business up again. {milk + sugar story} - more on that another time.

our home is made up of either ikea, side of the road, handmade, op-shop, borrowed or engagement + wedding presents. thank you to all our lovely, amazing, generous friends + family who have been supporting us + praying for us + looking after us so well as we start this new stage in life. VERY much appreciated! also i haven't forgotten about thank you notes for wedding presents - they will be on the way... SOON!
so lets get into it!

i'm just showing snippits of our studio (aka end room, lounge room/dinning room/study/craft + music room) - it's the everything room! and the most exciting other than the bedroom, but that needs more work. well the whole place does really.

so here we have our mac, which i'm at currently. here you can find crafty supplies, stationary, books, decor, board games, cameras, dvds + cds - just to name a few.

our super comfy $50 opshop couch. bargain!

we now have a coffee table - located in the music corner!

here ends the studio house tour. hope you've enjoyed your stay. feel free to drop by any time! maybe we could have a picnic, or have a crafter noon - that would be dandy me thinks!

 i can't believe its nearly the end of october already! it's nearly the end of the year - crazy town! what have you been up to this month? anything exciting? i'm sure there has been - there always seems to be something going on in this thing we call life. have you started planning for CHRISTmas? since last year there was a huge rush of trying to make like 30 presents in  few days, i've already started making some presents. hopefully i can finish them this year!

hope you have a lovely day!
